Objective
The aim of the project is to assess the eligibility of potential greenhouse gas emission reduction projects to be implemented under Article 6: Joint Implementation Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change as well as to estimate the revenues that can be generated by these projects.

Description

The following steps were carried out in order to reach the project target:
Assessment of the eligibility and the additional revenues (tonnes CO₂ / €) of the following potential JI projects:
Option 1: Refurbishment of existing sewage sludge landfill Ljuberzy
- In the case of degassing sewage sludge fields
- In the case of constructing a sludge incinerator in comparison with the existing sewage sludge disposal site
Option 2: Landfill gas utilization of sludge fields
Option 3: Construction of a waste incineration plant  in comparison with the existing landfill
Option 4: Investment in increased efficiency: increase the biogas production by improving the operational processes of the sewage treatment plant process
